Spunky lady

Aunty miah is one spunky lady.... but today i was shocked to see her looking so frail & weak.

She'd been fighting cancer for the past 10 years and her spunk in handling the situation has been a source of inspiration to me. she never lets anything get her down... not the divorce, not raising the 2 girls on her own, not the big C, nothing. even when her remissions started getting shorter n shorter she was still optimistic and continued her chemos without fail. mak depended a lot on aunty miah's strength when she went thru her mastectomy. in fact i think mak's decision to continue with the surgery had a lot to do with her.

But i guess spirit alone isnt enough to fight off the ravaging rogue cells. she seemed pretty weak when we went visiting her at the makna ward this morning. sigh... i hope she pulls thru again. we have much need for courageous & inspiring people.
