A visit to KKB

The guthrie corridor cutting across sg buluh is a honey of a shortcut (but the 3 tolls of RM 1 each was a bit much i think)... before we knew it we were already westbound !! took us about an hour and a half to get to the Royal Lodge at KKB.

When we got there the view of the dam was quite breathtaking.. imagine that massive wall holding back such a huge body of water !! heard the construction of the dam involved relocation of orang asli settlements and such but their new place by the hillsides looked quite ok from far so i guess it wasnt too shabby a deal for them. i also noticed a few look-out points but the water level seemed rather low. we were later told that some water had been released earlier.

The lodge itself shows great potential.

Its a resort style multi-level structure, built on the face of a hill overlooking the catchment area and surrounded by a fruit orchard (rambutan, longan etc).

A great retreat and a fabulous venue for a weekend shindig eh ?!! :)

Now Tuanku is not only a seasoned traveller, he's also a voracious reader. its obvious that he has this deep respect & appreciation for books and each of his residence has a library of sorts. the lodge is no exception.. a room has already been reserved for that purpose. oh and btw, before long shah alam will be having a bigger and better library to offer her residents - Perpustakaan Di Raja at seksyen 13. i heard it'll be home to much of Tuanku's own personal collection.

The maksak gym was unexpectedly closed today but i wouldnt have had time to huff & puff anyway coz AH's running a fever and needed to see the doc. thank god she's just down with throat infection & some mild viral invasion. tapi dapat gak la mc 2 hari (much to her delight demam2 pun lol). there was quite a number of sick people at the clinic so that meant saying goodbye to my 'before maghrib' run as well. i know you're thinking, "whats the big deal? theres always tomorrow". yea thats true but problem is i always tend to stuff my face when i'm frustrated... and that would make it even worse :(

Oh how i wish i had a running buddy !!! mak's not too keen with my running alone at nite and hubba hubba, lazy bugger that he is, would rather watch desperate housewives with AI (gawd, what's wrong with the men in this household lol). my heart aches when i think of all that brightly lit pavement going to waste (berdrama la skit heheh).

AI's well into the 2nd week of his spm trials. i certainly hope by now his gotten over his spm denial stage. klu tak kan ke naya je. hey dude, its nothing to do with what i want... its you who must want to succeed. but my doas are always for the success and happiness of you 3 ok.
